Of Smoke and Rain

Steven and I are finally winding down from the hustle and bustle of the summer and it feels great to finally be getting some semblance of routine back. Sadly today’s update is a bit more of a solemn one. This morning we woke up to the distinct smell of burning and with one look outside, sure enough, there was smoke everywhere. The smoke has been coming and going for a few months now but today it rolled in with suffocating strength.

This picture was taken today, from the exact same location as above.

The fires in Montana have been burning for quite some time, and they seem to be getting frighteningly close to us. As an asthmatic today has been difficult and I can’t even imagine how the people in Montana feel who have been dealing with this far longer than half a day. Please keep us and Montana in your prayers. We need rain desperately.
