Getting down to the wire

It has been a while since I posted.  A lot of stuff has happened.  But Meran and I have been busy figuring out a lot of things wedding related so we haven’t had a chance to tell you about it.  Here are some highlights of the past couple months.

Meran graduated from Denver School of Massage Therapy!  She is now a certified massage therapist!

We celebrated the day by having a picnic. While there, some ducks approached us.  They were wanting food, but were too afraid to come close.  We coaxed them in with food and eventually had them eating out of our hands.  We went to the batting cages for a while then went to a movie. Fun day.
Even though Meran is now certified, she didn’t want to start a new job only to have vacation time a couple weeks later. So she went back to working at her old job where she technically still worked (though hadn’t put in any hours for 6 months).  That has been good in a way to get her mind off the wedding.  But it does introduce other stress factors.  Luckily it is only short term.

We both celebrated our birthdays last month.

We had a wonderful time at Heritage Square.  We did the alpine slide and mini golf.  After that, we went to the Music Hall for a show.  The actors had a fun time playing off of Meran.  That was also a great day.  I can’t speak for Meran, but I don’t feel as old as I am.  I know it has been almost 10 years since I graduated high school, but it sure doesn’t feel like it.

We found an apartment.

That’s great news.  Bad news is we have to move 2 days before the wedding.  Lots of help would be wonderful.  If you can help on the 27th, let one of us know.  We will be near Hampden and Sheridan. We both like the place and the location.  It’s a further drive to work for me, but we are closer to friends/family.

Other Wedding Stuff

Meran has been busy getting her and her bridesmaids dresses altered/adjusted for proper fit.  She also has done a great job making invitations and announcements. I helped a little with the most recent batch.  I didn’t realize how big of a job it was.  Great job by Meran.

I also have gotten my suit and the groomsmen’s attire all figured out(with Meran’s help of course so she could take credit for it).  Also this past weekend, I got 90% done getting our centerpieces made. Teddy (my little brother)  was a great help with the assembly. Amy (little sister) was a big help too.  I posted on my “tech blog” about the process.

So that is all I can think of now.  The wedding is getting really close now.  Still lots to do but I can’t wait.
