Having a great time
It has been much longer than hoped for giving an update. Meran and I are having a great time as newlyweds.
Our honeymoon was wonderful. It was great to have a couple weeks off of work to spend with my new wife. We took a road trip to Park City, UT. We were there at the peak of the fall leaf viewing season. The scenery was amazing. While there we visited the Olympic training site and watched some of the freestyle ski jump practice. I found it fun to watch. We also got to stand at the top of the long jump slope. Amazing view from there.
After our honeymoon, we came back and got around to unpacking our new apartment. We both decided to come back a little early in order to do this and are very glad we did. It turned out to be quite a project to consolidate our things and give everything a place.
(Meran took this before I had a chance to fill her’s. I really did get her stuff) |
Thanksgiving was spent with my family at my grandparents place. A good time was had by all. Meran started making “pockets” with help from my mom and aunt. Pockets are a tradition Meran did when she was a kid. They are sort of like an advent calendar with a small gift in each pocket every day of December up until Christmas. I have really enjoyed her tradition so far. I am really looking forward to spending our first Christmas together.
Unfortunately, Meran’s grandfather passed away recently. I was never able to meet him but from how Meran and other’s have described him, he was an amazing man.
Meran has been a wonderful wife to me. Every day at work, I can’t wait to come home to her. I am so glad I married her. Till next time…
