Valentines Day
I know its a little late but I figured better late than never. So on the actual Valentines day Steven and I didn’t really do anything to celibate so we decided to wait till Friday when I had off school and he didn’t have to work. He came over with a whole vase of purple daisies that were absolutely lovely and a gift on top of that. Some of you might be asking why didn’t he bring the traditional Roses that girls usually want or even expect on Valentine’s day? Well….because I told him not to. I know that sounds really strange but its the truth. don’t get me wrong I think Roses are beautiful but it irritates me that society dictates chocolate and roses as the absolute gift for Valentine’s Day, so guys grab a dozen roses and a box of chocolates frantically on their way home on the 14th of February and think they are off the hook. Why not put that money into a gift that is specifically for her. Why not call ahead and make a floral arrangement that was made with no one else but her in mind. if she likes Roses then great but don’t just do what everyone says you have to do because it Valentines day. Think of the woman you love and get her whatever is more her than what the money pushers shove down your throat. So Steven had heard this form me a time or two and when he walked in with those daisies I was beyond pleased. He had actually listened to me and taken what I had said to heart on a totally insignificant issue. Have I mentioned before that he is amazing?
After the flowers he gave me my gift and again it was fantastic. he had four frames with pictures of us in them. Let me explain why this meant so much to me. Steven isn’t an emotional gift giver. He likes being practical and giving gifts that are practical and that one can use in life. He knows I love pictures so for him to give me something that hands on a wall and that’s it…well it meant quite a bit to me. and as if he hadn’t made a few home runs already the last bundle in the bag was the 5th season of Psych! best detective TV show EVER!
But wait there’s more. Around 6pm he took me out for dinner and took me to where we had had our first date. I was melting at this point. I hadn’t gone back there since April of last year so it was all so new still. we had almost the same thing we had our first date…Calzones but the filling was different…and had desert to go. When we got back to my place you know what he offered to watch with me? Ever After. That’s right and it was totally his idea. Emotional gifts, flowers that proved he listened to me ranting, a season of a TV show I’ve been wanting to watch forever, a great dinner in a sentimental place, and offering to watch a total chick flick because he knows I love it…how did I get so lucky? All in all it was THE best Valentines day EVER
Yep, I'm Amazing…
